DayCare with Digg

Here at Digg we understand how busy a pet parent’s life can be. With work, children, travel or even some work being done around the house, sometimes it's nice to get your dog out to socialize and be a dog. At Digg we want your dog to enjoy their day with plenty of play and activities that will stimulate them mentally and most importantly physically.

Digg offers full play days with discounts on multiple dogs. If you want to save even more you can purchase prepaid daycare in multiple day packages. We offer walk-ins from 7:00 to 9:00am when space is available, but by pre-scheduling 24 hours or more in advance you can ensure a spot is available for your furry friend.

Benefits of Daycare

Daycare helps dogs of all sizes and ages learn good social skills so that they can interact better with people and dogs. It also provides necessary intellectual stimulation, entertainment, and physical activity to help your dog be a better K-9 citizen. While your dog is at daycare you won’t have to worry how they are entertaining themselves at home. When you pick your dog up after a day of playing with their friends, they will be ready to spend a night of quiet quality time with you.

We provide:

  • Safe, controlled environment

  • Peace of mind while you're away

  • Decreased separation anxiety

  • A chance to meet new friends, or perhaps begin a budding romance

Who Can Play

Dogs that show signs of aggressive behavior or other traits that could put the other Guests or Staff at risk will not be admitted. In most cases, a dog’s overall behavior is improved by group play as well as the interaction with our trained Staff. However, outside and genetic factors can sometimes lead to increased aggression and/or inappropriate behavior in dogs who have been participating in Playcare/Daycare for some time. Dogs who exhibit behaviors that cannot be reasonably controlled or modified by our Staff and that pose a threat to other dogs or our employees will cause us to suspend and or expel dogs from the facility.

Please refer to our policies page for more information!

Please understand this is not a reflection of how Digg Pet Resort and our staff feels about these breeds. We apologize for any inconvenience but we also believe in full transparency to our guests and potential guests.

DAYCARE FAQ

Q. My dog is older. I'd like him to get some play time but all day may be too much. What can you do for older, less active dogs?
A. We try to be as flexible as possible and meet the needs of all types of dogs and any special requests. We can always find a more reserve area where they can get as much or as little group play as you'd like, then they can have some down time to relax and recuperate. We can also schedule naps or lunch-breaks if you'd like.

Q. My dog is shy around other dogs and really hasn't socialized that much. Will he enjoy being with a large group of dogs?
A. Dogs are descendants of wolves and are pack animals by nature. When in a group, they will instinctively find their place in the pack. This can be an ongoing process but they usually find pack members of their same rank and play with them. It can take a few days for them to feel fully comfortable, but you'd be amazed at how a shy dog will blossom and become one of the more playful ones!

Q. I take my dog to the dog park and he seems to be always trying to hump other dogs. Sometimes, the other dog will turn around and growl and snap at him. Is my dog appropriate for Playcare?
A. Humping is a sign of dominance. The pack has a natural order to it and some dogs are born Alpha's (pack leaders). It is very natural for these dogs to try to show they are the leader of the pack. Dogs communicate their displeasure with something by growling or snapping first, without actually biting. Our Staff are trained to recognize the signs of dominance and curtail any unwanted aggression. So long as your dog does not become overly aggressive and pose a threat to other dogs or our employees, they are appropriate for Playcare.

Q. Why do you require that my dog be spayed or neutered?
A. The main reason is that intact dogs are at greater risk of injury from other dogs. In a social environment, intact males are often viewed as threats by other dominant dogs. Intact females, whether in heat or not, may be picked on by other female dogs and male dogs will view her as an intact female and treat her as such.

Q. Is Playcare/Daycare safe for my dog? Could he get bitten by another dog?
A. When dogs play, they use their paws and mouths and like wolves, their play mimics fighting or wrestling. In rare instances play goes too far and a dog can get bitten or scratched. Think of it like a child’s playground. Occasionally, kids who play hard end up with cuts and bruises. Rest assured however, that Digg Pet Resort takes the safety of the dogs in our care very seriously and takes all precautions to avoid any occurrence of injury.
We are constantly assessing your dog’s overall health while they are in our care. In the event your dog is injured or becomes ill while at Digg Pet Resort, they will be treated onsite immediately and if necessary, will be transported to one of the many local Veterinarians. Our Staff are trained in Pet First Aid and our facility maintains a fully stocked Dog First Aid Kit. We will always err on the side of caution when it comes to the wellbeing of our Guests. If we feel Veterinary care is appropriate, we will always attempt to contact you first. However, we will not delay the transportation to a Veterinarian if we feel care is needed urgently.

Q. My Pooch loves people but doesn’t seem all that social with other dogs. Is Playcare appropriate for him?
A. Yes, several of Digg Pet Resorts current clients simply enjoy watching the action from the sidelines and prefer spending the majority of their day being a pet and loved by our staff.

Q. How often is your facility cleaned?
A. We thoroughly clean several times daily both indoors and out. We also spot clean as needed. Blankets, beds and cots are always kept clean and toys are safely disinfected daily.
